While cosmetics will never become obsolete, the best beauty secrets of the world make use of all-natural ingredients.  From ancient to instant, here are a few of the beauty tips from women around the globe:

Brazilian women sizzle!

  • To remove dead skin cells and cellulite, they rub beach sand onto their skin.
  • Famous for their golden tan, they load up on carrot juice to help protect their skin whenever they sunbathe.
  • Brazilian women use Babassu oil (sometimes known as Cusi oil) to moisturize their skin.  Babassu oil comes from the seeds of the babassu palm that is abundant in South America.

So Japan-nice!

  • Wakame is a sea alga common in Japan.  It can be eaten on its own but technology allows its essence to be incorporated in modern cosmetics.  It has 15% more calcium than milk and is loaded with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.  Wakame keeps the skin elastic, smooth, and even-toned.
  • They use grounded Azuki beans and water to make a paste that they apply onto their face instead of a commercial face mask.  Leave on for fifteen minutes and then rinse off.  Some claim that this is the closest thing to getting a face lift without surgery due to its amazing skin tightening effect.
  • Camelia nut oil is a signature oil the Japanese Geisha women swear by to remove stretch marks and dark spots.
  • Japanese women also use a traditional rice bran wash (ko manuka) as a facial cleanser and moisturizer rolled into one.
  • Japanese women load up Vitamin C to keep their skin in healthy and white.

Chinese women, the porcelain-skinned beauties.

  • The Chinese love white tea that is also loaded with antioxidants.
  • Chinese beauty secrets include all-natural ingredients like rejuvenating herbs or adaptogens that improve the body’s ability to cope with stress and anxiety.  Here are some examples of adaptogens:  schizandra (Magnolia Vine), astragalus (yellow leader), and reishi mushrooms.
  • Chinese women use pearl powder that is made from freshwater pearls.   Packed with an amazing amount of essential amino acids, minerals, and calcium.  It can be added to any beverage like water and tea and when taken internally, it prevents bone loss and renews the body from within.  It can be applied topically for a flawless and silky white complexion. Chinese pearl powder is world-famous for its anti-aging benefits.

Bollywood Beauty

  • To treat acne, Indian women mix turmeric powder or sandalwood with water (or freshly squeezed carrot juice if you can’t find turmeric powder) and apply it to the affected areas.
  • For minimized pores, Indian women use chaas or lassi, a favorite local drink in India.  They gently rub the chaas onto the face and rinse it thoroughly with cold water.  Sometimes, they use buttermilk or water-reduced yogurt.
  • Indian women moisturize their skin using a mixture of cocoa powder, rose water, lanolin, and almond oil.  The alkaloids in the cocoa powder work wonders in rejuvenating the skin.
  • Want to get Bollywood-worthy tresses?  Oil your hair!  Indian women of all ages believe in an age-old and royal ritual of oiling to promote healthy hair growth.  Coconut oil is traditionally used, but some use eucalyptus oil and clove oil or a combination of the three.
  • A traditional skin polisher made with chickpea flour, milk, and turmeric powder is used by most women in Indian to give rub off the dead skin cells and give their skin a moisturized and silky smooth finish.
