Miss Universe 2013 Gabriela Isler arrives in Manila
Reigning Miss Universe Gabriela Isler of Venezuela, one of the special guests in the Binibining Pilipinas 2014 pageant, arrived in Manila via Philippine Airlines PR103 on Thursday, March 27. Gabriela be one of the judges during the pageant and will help crown this year's winners.
Gabriela is in the country not only to help crown this year's Binibining Pilipinas winners, but also to help the ongoing relief and rebuild efforts with Dutch development agency, Cordaid, in the provinces devastated by Typhoon Yolanda. The Miss Universe Cordaid fund will call attention to the needs of projects that are essential for the country's recovery long after the emergency relief period has ended. Miss Universe's short visit includes a field visit to current Cordaid project sites. Gabriela will be joined by Paula Shugart, President of the Miss Universe Organization.
Five crowns will be at stake come coronation night: Miss Universe Philippines, Binibining Pilipinas-International, Binibining Pilipinas-Tourism, Binibining Pilipinas-Supranational, and Binibining Pilipinas-Intercontinental. Last year's golden batch of winners, led by Miss Universe 2013 3rd runner up Ariella Arida, Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago, Miss Supranational 2013 Johanna Datul, and Miss Tourism Queen International 2013 Top 10 finalist Cindy Miranda, brought immense pride to the country by doing well in their respective international competitions.
The Binibining Pilipinas Grand Coronation Night will be held on March 30 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. This hotly-anticipated pageant will be hosted by Anne Curtis, Xian Lim, Venus Raj, and Shamcey Supsup, and aired live on ABS-CBN.
