Vital Life Center: Just How Healthy Are You?

For the average health-conscious Filipino, being healthy is beyond the physical; it's also a state of mind. However, according to recent advances in health science, you can feel healthy but you may not actually be well.

Vital Life Center is an exclusive, physician-supervised facility intended to support QPlus, a thriving networking company that offers exceptional health and wellness products and business opportunities in the Philippines. During my visit to the center, I was assisted by QPlus marketing manager Carlos Cabuay, who gave me a rundown of their products ranging from health supplements to energy boosting products.

The screening facility is located right across the QPlus headquarters on the 7th floor of Rockwell Business Center Tower I in Ortigas Avenue. Dr. Ferdinand Soledad, the medical head of Vital Life Center, gave me a brief tour. The center offers a range of alternative screening modalities and non-invasive procedures that generate qualitative, rather than quantitative, results of one’s overall health at a cellular level.

The first of these tests is the Body Terrain (Tri-Fluid) Analysis, a powerful screening test that looks into the actual state of the patient’s internal body chemistry through the measurement of the mineral concentration, oxidative stress, and acid-alkaline balance in the blood, urine, and saliva. While it does not reveal any disease, it provides the accurate state of bodily functions before any physical manifestation develops.

“It’s one of the NASA-certified examinations wherein we’re trying to identify weakness in the body at the cellular level,” said Dr. Soledad. “You might be 20 years old but your cells are acting like a 60-year-old person.”

Another test is the Chinese Meridian Testing, which is a state-of-the-art technology that detects blockage in the body’s energy flow through the 12 main acupuncture points. This non-invasive test studies the body’s current to detect the organs’ strength levels and potential health risks even before any symptoms appear.

A modern approach to the traditional fire/Chinese cupping method is also available as well as acupuncture and spine alignment therapy using the Dorm Method. The center’s facial procedure, the Experience Radiance, goes beyond the conventional facial treatments with QPlus’ skincare range called Physio Radiance. Vita Life Center is the first in the country to offer the Bio-Resonance Hair Testing, a non-invasive test that interprets the energy frequencies stored in the strands of human hair to help identify toxin and pathogen levels, food intolerance, and nutritional deficiencies.

Live Blood Analysis
During my visit, I underwent the Live Blood Analysis, also known as Nutritional Microscopy. “In conventional blood tests, you get the results in numbers,” explains Dr. Soledad. “Live blood analysis is visual. Since it’s live blood, you get to see the blood moving. You get to see what’s there if there’s a presence of microbial activities, cholesterol, uric acid, liver stress, and other things. Take note though that it’s not a complete blood chemistry, just partial blood chemistry.”

I was a bit skeptical at first. After all, I’m in my 20s and don’t feel anything off. I work out, I take my vitamins, I don’t overload on fats or sweets, I eat fruits and veggies, and I’m serious about keeping my brain active. Perhaps my only vices are coffee and late nights. Generally, I believe I’m healthy.

Dr. Soledad got a few samples of my blood through a tiny pinprick on my finger. The samples were then analyzed and recorded in a video through a powerful microscope. After a few minutes, I sat down with Dr. Marie Carmelli Nuza, their in-house physician, who interpreted the results for me. The live blood video can be seen in three phases—Dark Field, Bright Field, and Dry Blood—all of which showed me the condition of my red blood cells.

I was surprised by what I saw. My live blood’s video differs from the one they showed me earlier of another patient’s healthy, free-flowing live blood activity. As we went through the video, Dr. Nuza pointed out to several shiny and not-so-shiny dots clustered together in various formations. According to her, these were uric acid and cholesterol crystals in my blood sample. It also showed several deformed red blood cells (in contrast to the normal circular shape) and “target cells,” which suggest the lack of folic acid, vitamin B12, and iron in my diet, as well as poor digestion.

While the tests and results are not indicative of any disease, they give a clear picture of how diet, lifestyle, and stress levels affect not only live blood activity but also organ functions even before any symptoms arise. Dr. Nuza suggested a series of lifestyle and dietary changes as well as optional procedures I can undergo to help improve my overall state of health to avoid future complications.

“It’s like this: maybe today you are vibrant and you feel you will not have any health problems because you’re young,” Dr. Soledad told me. “You feel that serious diseases will not hit you at the moment, but then, health, sickness, and wellness are different things. You feel you might be healthy because you don’t feel anything at all—but you might not be well. And that’s where the center’s screening modalities and complementary treatments are all about.”
