Whether you arrive by a chartered plane from Manila via Misibis Aviation, on board a luxury fast craft for a 20-minute ride from the Legazpi Port Area or an hour-long drive by land, the trail to this tropical hideaway is part of your luxurious adventure and cultural awakening.
It’s quite interesting to note that most guests still prefer to travel by land. En route to Misibis Bay, guests are picked up at exactly 8 o’clock in the morning at the dock area of Embarcadero de Legazpi. The hour-long drive would take you on a quick heritage road tour of the different districts in Legazpi City–Rawis, Arimbay, Bigaa, Padang, and Sto. Domingo.
Barge Ride to Misibis Bay
Guests are given a short yet rich history of the famous landmarks in each district. You can make a quick stopover at the Typhoon Reming Memorial Shrine, at the age-old Sto. Domingo Church, and even at the famous black sand beach resorts in the Sto. Domingo district. You need to cross the Sula Channel in order to get to Misibis Bay. The barge ride will only two minutes before you set off for another 15-minute ride before reaching the secluded paradise that is tucked away in south-easternmost part of Cagraray Island.
Welcome to Paradise
Upon reaching Misibis Bay Resort, guests are embraced with a warm welcome from the staff as well as a demonstration of the traditional Ibalong dance ritual. Guests are handed cold towels and welcome drinks and then ushered to the high-ceiling, all-glass reception area overlooking the resort.
The Traditional Ibalong Dance Ritual
After the brief welcome remarks and complimentary snacks at the reception area, guests are directed to their respective villas. Day Tour guests are given a receiving villa where they can leave their luggage and refresh themselves before starting their Misibis Bay Resort Day Tour.
Luxurious Accommodations
Misibis Bay Resort offers a variety of elegant, spacious, and ultimately relaxing villas that are all perfectly suited for honeymooners, friends, and families.
ADVENTURES IN MISIBIS BAY
Click to enlarge. The villas are strategically scattered across the property to offer guests with the feeling of seclusion and serenity. Both spacious and unpretentious, each villa features a tasteful intermingling of modern chic inspirations as well the smart and elegant use of native materials like abaca, banig, and ratan.
The more luxurious villas have a large reception area, a kitchenette, a Jacuzzi, a private pool entrance and even an exclusive plunge pool that is located at the balcony. Each villa is furnished with a massive bed, a sitting area, a spacious bathroom, a stocked mini fridge, an LCD TV and an iPod dock complete with speakers, and the other modern conveniences that guests could ever ask for.
The wall-to-ceiling glass windows give a fantastic view of the beach or the lagoon and infinity pools (depends on which villa you choose) as you enjoy another grand welcome gesture of complimentary drinks, snacks, and lavish foot wash.
Take a dip at the resort’s three main pools: The infinity pool, the “lagoon” pool that snakes its way to about half of the 3-storey structures where some villas are located, and even the kiddie pool with your children.
For a more serene way of spending the day at the resort, you can de-stress at the lavish beach front cabanas and sunbeds or go The Essences Spa, which is located the highest building in the area where you can get not only the signature Mt. Mayon Stone Therapy Massage (that makes use of lava rocks) but also an amazing panoramic view of the entire Misibis Bay Resort.
